Neighborhood Watch

Neighborhood Watch is a crime prevention program of the National Sheriff's Association that began in the early 1970s. It is designed to unite neighbors and prevent crime through active citizen participation in cooperation with law enforcement. As members of a Neighborhood Watch, citizens are trained to recognize and report suspicious activity in neighborhoods.

Neighborhood Watch Signs act as a deterrent to crime.

What does a Neighborhood Watch do?

  • Neighborhood watch participants carefully watch and observe their neighbors’ homes, children, and property.  If any suspicious activity is observed, the Police are notified immediately.

  • Participants utilize proven crime prevention strategies to make it much more difficult for criminals to perpetrate crime within their community.

The Police can't be in all the neighborhoods at once so it really helps Police Officers if people are watching their neighborhoods and reporting suspicious activities to us.
