Obeying posted speed limits is a crucial part of keeping the community safe.

To help understand rates of speed within the community we occasionally place our speed monitoring trailer in high traffic areas or areas of speeding concerns. Doing so allows us to gather data on the number of cars passing through a given area and the rates of speed being driven.

This information is shared with department members when patterns indicate excessive speeds by a significant number of vehicles.  Additionally, officers are directed to certain areas when results of this monitoring mirrors complaints from residents concerning speed issues.
